SUGAR COOKIES WITH CLASS 
1 1/2 c. sifted powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
2 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cream of tartar

Cream sugar and butter. Add egg and flavorings, mix thoroughly, sift dry ingredients together and stir in. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Heat oven to 375 degrees, divide dough in half, roll out on lightly floured pastry sheet. Bake 7 to 8 minutes or until lightly brown.

ICING:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 lb. powdered sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Beat together and ice when cool. Add food coloring to change the color for different shaped cookies.
