QUICHE LORRAINE | |
1 (9 inch) baked pie shell 1 1/4 c. half and half or milk 1/8 tsp. ground nutmeg 8 slices bacon, cooked crisp, drained and rumbled 1 c. (4 oz.) shredded Swiss cheese 6 eggs 1/2 tsp. salt 1/8 tsp. pepper (Substitutions: Cheddar cheese and 1/2 cup chopped ham in place of bacon and Swiss cheese.) Sprinkle bacon and cheese into pie shell. Beat together remaining ingredients until well blended. Pour over bacon and cheese. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven until knife inserted near center comes out clean -- 30 to 40 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes before serving. |
