GREAT BANANA NUT CAKE 
1 c. butter Crisco
3 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/4 c. buttermilk
2 tbsp. vanilla
3 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
6 small or 4 large bananas, mashed
1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Cream sugar and Crisco until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Add buttermilk and vanilla, blend well until smooth. Combine flour, soda, and salt to creamed mixture. Beat well. Add bananas and walnuts and mix until blended. Spoon batter into a greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until cake tests done.
