CHILI CON CARNE 
1/2 lb. chopped beef
1 onion, chopped
1 tbsp. Crisco
1 (16 oz.) can red beans
1 c. tomato juice
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. chili powder (more or less to taste)

Cook meat and onions in Crisco until lightly brown. Simmer for 15-20 minutes after adding the rest of the ingredients. 3 to 4 servings.
