MICROWAVE-LIGHTLY BARBECUED BEEF 
1 1/2 lb. beef round steak, cut in 1/4-inch strips
1/4 c. flour
1 c. thinly sliced carrots
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
3/4 c. water
1/2 c. ketchup
1/4 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. vinegar
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper

Toss beef and flour together in 3-quart casserole. Add remaining ingredients. Cover. Microwave at HIGH 5 minutes. Reduce power to 50% (medium). Microwave 35-40 minutes, or until meat is tender, stirring after half the cooking time. Let stand covered, 10 minutes. Serve over rice or noodles.

Serves 4. This has a sweet and sour taste.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
