4 egg whites 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/4 c. confectioners' sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract 6 individual pastry shells 1 pt. any flavor ice cream, frozen hard Beat egg whites until highly frothy. Mix in salt, cream of tartar, confectioners' sugar, and vanilla. Fill centers of the pastry shells with ice cream and cover with meringue. Bake in a very hot oven (450 degrees) about 3 minutes. |
