BUTTER - NUT COOKIES 
2 sticks butter
1/4 c. powdered sugar
1 tbsp. water
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour, all-purpose
1 c. finely chopped pecans
Powdered sugar for coating

Melt butter in small pan. Remove from heat. Stir in 1/4 cup powdered sugar, water and vanilla. Add pecans and flour to make dough. Pinch off dough in finger like strips or small balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in slow oven at 300 degrees for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Cool and coat each cookie by rolling in powdered sugar.
