CREAM CHEESE COOKIES 
Makes about 4 dozen.

1 c. powdered sugar
3/4 c. (1 1/2 sticks) butter, softened
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. lemon juice
2 tsp. grated lemon rind
2 c. cake flour or 1 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. minced pecans
Powdered sugar (for coating)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Gradually beat 1 cup sugar into butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy. Stir in vanilla, lemon juice and rind. Mix in flour, then stir in nuts. Push off teaspoon onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. While hot, coat with powdered sugar. Cool on rack.
