SWEDISH MEAT BALLS | |
2 tbsp. oil 1/4 tsp. cloves 1 c. soft bread crumbs 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. ginger 1 egg 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 2/3 c. milk 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. brown sugar 1 c. sour cream 1/2 tsp. salt Heat oil in frying pan. Mix together all remaining ingredients except for sour cream and 1/2 teaspoon salt. Form into appetizer size meat balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Brown in oil on all sides until fully cooked. Remove from pan and drain on paper towels. Pour off excess fat and cool pan slightly. Add small amount of sour cream to meat brownings and stir. Then add remaining sour cream and 1/2 teaspoon salt, stirring to blend. Add browned meat balls to sour cream, tossing to coat evenly. Place in chafing dish to serve warm or use on top of cooked rice. |
