HOT CROSS BUNS 
1 c. milk
1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
3/4 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. melted butter
1/4 c. raisins
1 pkg. yeast
2 tbsp. lukewarm water
1 egg
2-3 c. flour

Scald milk. Add sugar, spices and raisins. Sprinkle yeast over 2 tablespoons water. Add milk. Mix when it has cooled. Beat in egg and other dry ingredients. Put in greased bowl and let rise until double.

Shape dough in 18 balls and place on greased baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Drizzle with sugar icing when cool (1 cup powdered sugar, 2 teaspoons milk and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla). Form cross on buns.
