2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cocoa
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix all ingredients well. Pour into well greased and floured cake pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
