EGGLESS CHOCOLATE SPICE CAKE 
1 c. sugar
1 c. seedless raisins
1/3 c. oil
2 sq. baking chocolate
1/4 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. cold water
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Boil together for 4 minutes: Sugar, raisins, oil, chocolate, cloves, cinnamon and water. Cool completely. Separately mix 1 teaspoon baking soda in a little hot water. When cool, add to first mixture. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Sift together and add to liquid, flour and salt. Mix well. Bake in greased and dusted 8 inch pan at 350 degrees for 60 minutes. Cool. Makes one 8 inch layer.
