THE GOVERNOR OF OREGON'S SUGAR
ROLLS

Basic baking powder biscuit recipe:

1 3/4 c. flour
1/3 c. shortening
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
Approximately 3/4 c. milk

Blend dry ingredients and shortening until mixture resembles fine crumbs. Stir in just enough milk so that dough leaves sides of bowl and round into ball. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface and knead gently ten times.

Roll above or other biscuit dough out on lightly floured surface to 1/4 to 1/2 inch. Spread with butter and sprinkle with brown sugar. Roll up and cut into 1 inch slices. Place sliced rolls, cut side down, on lightly greased baking sheet or dish and bake at 350 degrees for approximately 30 minutes or until lightly brown. Do not overcook.
