GRANDMA'S YEAST ROLLS 
P.S. Here's Grandma's yeast roll recipe as she told it to me. Warm 1 cup mashed potatoes and stir in 3/4 cup shortening, 1 tablespoon salt, and 2 tablespoons sugar. Add mixture to 1 cup scalded milk. When cooled to lukewarm, stir in 1 egg and 1 yeast cake that has been dissolved in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Add flour until about the texture of biscuits. Store in refrigerator or roll out.

It may be because I use instant potatoes that I don't seem to get them to taste like Grandma's with only 1 egg and 1 cake of yeast. So I use 2 eggs and 2 yeast cakes where her recipe calls for one. It takes about 5 cups of flour.
