2 c. flour
1 c. salt
4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tbsp. cooking oil
2 c. water (add food coloring, if desired)

Mix all ingredients together over medium heat, stirring constantly. It will become hard to mix. Remove from heat and knead with flour for a few minutes. Store in refrigerator (covered). Will keep for about 6 months. (Recipe may be halved.)
