SORGHUM SUGAR COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. light sorghum
2 eggs
2 tsp.of baking soda
4 c. sifted all purpose flour
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. salt

Melt shortening, let cool. Add sugar, sorghum, eggs; beat well. Sift together flour, soda, cloves, ginger, cinnamon, and salt; add to first mixture. Mix well; chill. Form in one inch balls, roll in granulated sugar and place on greased baking sheet (DO NOT flatten with a fork) place two inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet. Bake in moderate hot oven, 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
