DATE PECAN BALL (WEDDING
COOKIES)
 
1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. sifted flour
2 c. ground pecans
1 c. cut-up dates

Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla and mix well. Add flour and mix well. Blend in pecans and dates. Roll teaspoonful of dough into balls. Refrigerate 1-2 hours. Bake at 350 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 20 minutes. Roll balls in powdered sugar.

I have been using this recipe for over 40 years. It is a great recipe. I like to re roll them in powder sugar before serving them. They keep well in a cool dry airtight environment up to 3 weeks. I had scribbled the recipe on a piece of paper which is old and stained now.
