SAVORY RICE 
1 1/2 c. regular long grain rice
1 env. Lipton onion soup mix
3 1/4 c. water
4 slices bacon, cut up
1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
2 tbsp. pimento, chopped
2 tbsp. chopped parsley

Combine rice and onion soup mix in saucepan. Stir in water. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer 20 minutes or until rice is tender. Fry bacon until crisp. Add bacon and 1 tablespoon drippings to rice. Fold in mushrooms, pimento, and parsley. Makes 8-10 servings.

This is a very tasty side dish; good with pork or wild game.
