FUDGE OR ICING 
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/2 c. Crisco
1/4 c. Karo syrup
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla flavoring

Bring to boil. Cook 3 minutes for fudge and 2 minutes for icing. Set off to cool. Beat several times while cooling. If icing becomes too thick, milk can be added.

I have been making Karo fudge from my mothers recipe for years, i never have added Crisco. Use 1/3 cup butter. Sometime it doesn't get creamy, why? My recipe says boil for 5 min.
