FRIED GREEN TOMATOES | |
4-6 green tomatoes 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. pepper 3/4 cup flour, seasoned 3/4 cup corn meal or cracker meal seasoned 1 egg milk 1 cup oil Slice tomatoes at least 1/2 inch thick, coat with seasoned flour then dredge in egg wash (egg and milk mixed well together). Coat with either type of meal. Fry until golden brown. Serve hot or cold. Yield 6 to 8 servings. |
