BEEF TOMATO AND CABBAGE SCALLOPS | |
1 lb. ground beef 1/4 c. onions, chopped 2 1/2 c. canned tomatoes 2 tbsp. shortening 1 c. chopped celery 1 c. bread crumbs 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. pepper 4 c. cabbage Brown meat in shortening. Add onion and celery, cook 5 minutes. Add tomatoes, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, place alternate layers of cabbage and meat mixture in 2 quart baking dish. Top with bread crumbs. Bake, uncovered at 375 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes. Yield: 6 servings. |
