GOOD BANANA CAKE 
3/4 c. butter
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. sour milk
2 egg yolks
2 1/2 c. cake flour
1 tsp. baking powder, sifted with flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in sour milk
1 c. mashed bananas
2 egg whites

Cream shortening with sugar. Stir in beaten egg yolks. Add alternately the milk and flour which has been sifted with baking powder. Beat egg whites until stiff. Beat mashed bananas in the stiff egg whites. Fold into batter last. Bake at 350 degrees.
