FROSTED MOLASSES BARS 
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1/3 c. molasses
1/3 c. hot coffee
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. coffee

Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg, molasses and coffee. Sift remaining ingredients together. Add to creamed mixture. Pour into greased 9 x 13 inch pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Frost while warm. Cool, cut into bars.
