CALIFORNIA FRUIT CAKE 
3/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 c. brown sugar
2 c. dates
1 1/2 c. apricots
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
3 c. walnuts
3 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Sift into bowl the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir in brown sugar. Add dates, apricots, and walnuts. Stir to coat with flour. Beat eggs until foamy. Add vanilla; mix until blended. Grease loaf pan and line with waxed paper. Bake in slow 300 degree oven for 1 1/2 hours.
