CHOCOLATE SOUR CREAM CAKE 
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. water
3/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
4 squares unsweetened chocolate, melted & cooled

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour 2 pans. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup, level off. In medium bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking soda, salt and baking powder; blend well. Set aside.

In large bowl, combine remaining cake ingredients; add dry ingredients. Blend at low speed until moist. Beat 3 minutes at high speed. Pour batter into pans. Bake 30 to 40 minutes.

FROSTING:

3 c. powdered sugar
1/4 c. sour cream
1/4 c. butter, softened
3 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted & cooled

Combine frosting ingredients, mix at low speed until moist. Beat at highest speed until smooth and creamy.
