1 box German chocolate cake mix 1 sm. can evaporated milk 1 pkg. caramels 1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 1/2 sticks butter, softened Over low heat, melt caramels in 1/3 cup evaporated milk. Set aside. Combine cake mix, softened butter and 1/3 cup evaporated milk. In greased 9 x 13 inch pan, press layer of cake mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 5 minutes. Remove from oven. Sprinkle chocolate chips on cake mixture and pour melted caramels evenly over chocolate chips. Crumble remaining cake mix on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 15-20 minutes. |
