WOULD BE FAMOUS BUFFALO WINGS | |
12 oz. Durkee red hot cayenne pepper sauce (or favorite) 8 oz. butter (can use less if you like) 1/4 tsp. garlic salt (not powder) 1/4 tsp. onion salt About 3 lbs. wings Combine hot sauce, butter, garlic and onion salt; mix well in a pot and warm the sauce. Dip wings in warm sauce until coated (if sauce is cold it won't coat well). Save remaining sauce. Cook on grill 30 to 40 minutes or until brown, turning frequently to prevent too much burning (a little makes them taste better). Place wings in a large skillet (cast iron works best). Pour in remaining sauce, cover and simmer slowly for about 1/2 hour. Alternate plan. Place chicken in baking dish. Pour on remaining sauce and then cover dish. Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Serve hot with a good blue cheese dressing and celery sticks. Alternate plan. Cooked wings freeze well. I usually make a large batch and freeze some. Simply reheat and eat. WARNING: The more you reheat this stuff, the hotter (i.e. spicier) it gets. |
