2 eggs 1/2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. rum flavoring Pinch of baking powder 2 c. flour 2 tbsp. milk Mix all ingredients into a soft but rollable dough. Roll with extra flour and cut into approximately 4 x 1 inch rectangles. Slit rectangle lengthwise down the middle. Pull one end through the slit to make the bow shape. Fry in hot oil (enough to cover bottom of pan but not enough to cover the dough) until golden brown. Turn to cook both sides (they cook very quickly). Sprinkle confectioners' sugar over still warm cookies. Yield 2 dozen. |
