DATE-NUT PUDDING AND SAUCE 
1/2 c. sugar
1 c. chopped suet
1 c. milk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 c. chopped dates
1 1/2 c. chopped English walnuts

Mix all and steam 3 hours.

SAUCE:

1 scant c. sugar
1 tbsp. butter
1 c. boiling water
2 tsp. flour
Glug of bourbon

For sauce, scald all ingredients until clear and slightly thickened. A holiday tradition in our family for years.
