PEANUT BUTTER 'N FUDGE BROWNIES | |
2 c. sugar 1 c. butter 2 tsp. vanilla 4 eggs 1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour 3/4 c. cocoa 1 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. peanut butter chips 3/4 c. peanut butter 1/3 c. butter 1/3 c. sugar 2 tbsp. flour 2 eggs 3/4 tsp. vanilla FROSTING: 3 oz. (3 sq.) unsweetened chocolate 3 tbsp. butter 2 2/3 c. powdered sugar 1/4 tsp. salt 3/4 tsp. vanilla 4-5 tbsp. water Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease 9x13 inch pan. In large bowl, cream sugar and 1 cup butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and four eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup; level off. Gradually add flour and cocoa, baking powder and salt to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in chips. In small bowl, cream peanut butter and 1/3 cup sugar and flour; blend well. Add 2 eggs and vanilla; beat until smooth. Spread half of chocolate mixture in pan. Spread peanut butter mixture over chocolate mixture. Spread remaining chocolate mixture over both layers. Gently cut through layers to marble. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 50 minutes. Cool completely. Frosting: Melt chocolate and butter. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, salt, vanilla and water until smooth; spread over brownies. Makes 54 bars. |
