LACE COOKIES 
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1 c. flour
1 c. coconut flakes or 1 c. chopped walnuts
1/4 tsp. maple flavoring

Combine brown sugar, butter and light corn syrup together in saucepan. Stir until melted. Remove pan from flame and add flour, coconut flakes (or chopped walnuts) and maple flavoring. Drop by scant teaspoon about 3" apart on lightly greased cookie pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven about 5 or 6 minutes or until lightly browned. (Cookies spread to make a lacy look.) Allow to cool for 5 minutes and place on paper towels to remove the oil. Store in tins. They will keep several weeks. Makes 72 cookies.
