BISCOTTI 
1/2 lb. soft butter
2 c. sugar
4-5 c. flour
3 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. anise seed
6 eggs, well beaten

Mix flour and anise seed; set aside. Beat butter, eggs and sugar. Add vanilla. Blend in dry ingredients (wooden spoon, over, under by hand). Shape dough into loaf. Put on cookie sheet to bake. Bake, to shelf, 400 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Remove, slice into strips. Rearrange biscuits on cookie sheet. Bake 5 minutes until golden brown.
