ITALIAN BISCOTTI 
1/2 c. Crisco, melted
1 oz. lemon extract
7 eggs
1 oz. anise extract
1 c. butter
2 tbsp. honey
1/2 c. vegetable oil
6 to 7 c. flour
2 1/2 c. sugar
7 tsp. baking powder

Using mixer, cream eggs and sugar in medium bowl. Add cool shortening, honey, and flavorings. In a large bowl, make a well with about 6 to 7 cups of flour. Add baking powder in center of the well. Add medium bowl ingredients. Work in together, making a soft dough and form into desired shape. (Usually a small ball no bigger than 1 1/2 inches diameter.) Do not handle too much. Bake on a greased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven for 10 to 12 minutes.

Frost with icing or 1 box confectioners' sugar, 2 teaspoons anise flavoring, and warm water to make a drizzle. Cover the tops of each cookie and sprinkle colored non-pareils on top while icing is still wet.
