BRISKET IN BEER 
4 to 6 lb. beef brisket, trimmed
Salt
Pepper
Garlic powder
1 to 2 cans beer

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Salt and pepper heavily. Sprinkle with garlic powder. Pour beer around brisket and cover pan tightly. Bake 6 hours or overnight.

Remove meat and strain off grease from pan. Add enough water or beer to pan drippings to make a rich gravy. Cut meat in thin slices against grain and serve with gravy. Serve as a main course meat or for cocktails with small split rolls, pan gravy on the side and a relish tray. Serves 8 to 12.
