Christmas Jello Salad

I've had Christmas Jello salad previously and made this recipe thinking this was the same one. It's not! Use 6 oz packages of Cherry and Lime and 3 oz of lemon. It makes a difference. With all that is added to the Lemon, if you don't use twice as much of the other flavors, it's just not as good.

My mom always made this for Christmas. If you use just 1 box of each jello it will make a glass dish that is like 6 by 8 --- If you want to make a 9 X 13 glass dish use 2 small boxes or 1 large box for each layer. When she plated the jello she would turn some upside down so there wrould be red and green tops on the table for and added eye pleaser

Here's what I did, turned out great:

Use 6 oz. boxes of red and green Jell-o. Mix with 3 cups boiling water, no cold. Make sure all layers cool to pretty much room temp before adding. And make sure the Jell-o is totally set before adding a layer. I left out the pineapple and the kids couldn't eat enough! Also, make sure you thaw out your Cool Whip ahead of time, I forgot. And it helps to let your cream cheese sit at room temp for a while to soften it up. Very yummy!

When preparing cherry and lime jello , do you follow directions on the box or just 3 cups of hot water for the 3 cherry . Or do you also add 3 cups of cold water. Thanks

It doesn't really matter! Use the larger boxes if you have more people to feed...

What size jello boxes do I buy to make this recipe? The smaller boxes or the larger ones? Please let me know soon. I would like to try this recipe for my Christmas dessert.
Thanks, Dorothy
