LUNA TUNA SANDWICHES | |
Recently I CRAVED a simple tuna sandwich... like the ones I had when I was a child in the 70's. Here's my version! 1 large can tuna Worcestershire sauce ground black pepper finely chopped onion finely chopped celery dash of mustard REAL mayonnaise (I use Mrs. Filberts) wheat bread slices (for a truly tuna taste best on white bread) Add ingredients above in order... mainly adding the mayonnaise is the FINAL step. There are no measurements - just add a dash of the liquid... seasonings to taste... and mayo as you like. The secret is the Worcestershire sauce.. it gives the tuna BITE! I also feel that FINELY chopping the veggies allows them to blend better together. I like COLD sandwiches, but many love tuna melts... Oh! and don't EVEN use that Albacore stuff!! Save that for the fancy restaurants. This is a basic 1970's home from school "latch-key" child had to make for herself & her little sister til Mom came home from work!! Note: Depending what part of the country you are from... adding a slice of yellow American cheese will NOT offend me. Submitted by: ShiShi's Tastee Creations |
