BAKED BEANS 
2 lbs. dry beans
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. mild molasses
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 to 1 1/2 lbs. bacon, cut up

Wash 2 pounds dry beans. Soak overnight in plenty of water and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. In the morning, boil for 10 minutes; drain. Add fresh water and boil for 1/2 hour and pour into crock pot. Add rest of ingredients, except bacon. Fry bacon a little and drain fat. Add to crock pot. Cook on high for 6 to 8 hours or until done.
