CRUMMY APPLE PIE 
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. oatmeal
2 sticks butter (soft)
10 to 12 apples, Granny Smith or McIntosh, peeled, cored, sliced
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. cold water

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In large bowl, place flour, brown sugar and oatmeal. Cut in butter with pastry cutter or two knives until mixture has consistensy of small peas. Put 2/3 of crust in bottom of 9x13 inch pan, spreading evenly to form bottom crust. Spread apple slices over crust and set aside.

In small saucepan, mix sugar, cinnamon and cornstarch. Place over medium heat and gradually add cold water, stirring constantly. Bring to a boil (mixture will thicken). Immediately pour over apples, evenly as possible. Sprinkle remaining crumb mixture on top. Bake 1 hour.
