PERFECT PIE CRUST | |
4 c. flour 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tsp. salt 1-3/4 c. veg. shortening 1 tbsp. vinegar 1 lg. egg Put first 3 ingredients in large bowl. Add shortening, mix with fork. In small bowl, beat 1/2 cup water, egg and vinegar. Combine the two mixes. Divide into 5 portions. Shape in flat, round patty. Wrap in waxed paper and chill 1/2 hour. Lightly flour and roll to 1/8-inch thick. Transfer to pie pan. Use for 1-crust or 2-crust pies as desired. Makes 2 double crust pies and 1 single crust. |
