GOLDEN OATMEAL COOKIES 
3/4 c. soft butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 c. water
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 c. uncooked oats
1 c. golden raisins

Beat shortening, sugar, egg, water and vanilla together until creamy. Soak raisins in hot water to soften and drain. Add to creamed mixture. Sift flour, salt, soda and cinnamon together and add to creamed mixture. Blend well. Stir in oats. Chill dough. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes (ovens vary watch timing).
