3 c. flour
5 eggs
2 3/4 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable shortening
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk
1/2 lb. whipped butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, shortening and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time and mix well. Add salt to flour. Add flour alternately with milk and vanilla. Put into greased tube pan and a small loaf or 9 inch round. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 1/2 hours.

NOTE: Check 9 inch round in about 45 minutes to an hour, because of its size it will cook faster.
