PLAIN POUND CAKE | |
1 stick butter 1 stick butter 1/2 c. Crisco 2 c. sugar 6 lg. eggs 3 c. Swansdown cake flour Dash of salt 1 c. milk 1/2 tsp. baking powder 2 tsp. vanilla extract 1 tsp. lemon extract Cream butter, butter, Crisco, and sugar together until well mixed. Add eggs, one at a time. Combine all dry ingredients together and alternately add to mixture with milk. Add vanilla and lemon last. Pour into two 9 inch greased and floured pans and bake at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours or until done. |
