MASHED POTATO CANDY | |
3/4 c. unseasoned baked potato, put thru the ricer 1/4 lb. butter 1/4 c. Crisco 2 (2 1/2 lb.) bags of powdered sugar Add powdered sugar slowly until mixed well. (This can also be put in flat pan and cut into shapes.) Cream the first three ingredients in mixer. When still sticky, divide into bowls and add the different flavorings you want. Shape candy into balls, etc. Dip into melted chocolate. Put on waxed paper to harden. (Put some Paraffin in chocolate.) FLAVORINGS: Maple Nut - add brown or yellow food color and 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 teaspoon maple flavorings. Add nuts. Coconut - Add coconut flavoring and flaked coconut. Peppermint - Add crushed peppermint stick, green coloring and peppermint flavoring. Nut - Add chopped nuts and almond flavoring. Vanilla Creams - Add vanilla and nuts. Can also use white chocolate for dipping and tint green or pink. |
