1 c. butter
1/4 c. cocoa
1 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts (optional)

Cream butter, sugar, and vanilla. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add sifted dry ingredients. Stir in chopped nuts, if desired. Bake on medium hot waffle iron, dropped by teaspoonfuls.
