FRENCH COOKIES 
1 lb. butter
1 lb. sugar
1 lb. flour (measure before sifting)
1 lb. eggs (6 or 8)
3 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter, eggs, sugar. Then flour and vanilla. Use 6 eggs first. After all is combined if batter is too thick add other 2 eggs. Spoon batter by tablespoon and bake in a waffle iron, until lightly browned. All depends on size of waffle iron -- you can make 1 big one or smaller ones at same time.
