1/3 c. shortening 1/2 c. sugar 1 egg 1 1/2 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 c. milk 1. Beat shortening, sugar and the egg. 2. Add to the mixture flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and milk. 3. Fill greased muffin tin with mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes. Roll in a mixture of melted butter (1 stick equivalent) or butter and 1/2 cup sugar and 1 teaspoon cinnamon. Makes 1 dozen. |
