NEVER FAIL DIVINITY | |
2 egg whites 1 1/2 c. water 2 c. nuts, chopped 1 tsp. vanilla 3 c. white sugar 1 box light brown sugar 1 c. light corn syrup Beat egg whites until stiff. Set aside, combine water, syrup, both sugars in boiler and cook until syrup forms a soft ball in cold water. Add 1/2 of mixture to egg whites, a little at the time and beat after each addition. Cook remainder of syrup until it spins a long thread when dropped from spoon. Add to egg whites a little at a time, beating as before. Add vanilla and nuts and beat until it begins to stiffen. Drop by teaspoonfuls on wax paper. Work in a hurry with a helper. Makes approximately 100 pieces. |
