1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. shortening
3 eggs
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda dissolved in water
1 c. chopped nuts
1 c. chopped dates

Mix in order given and bake 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Makes 5 dozen cookies.
