BOSTON BAKED BEANS 
2 c. navy beans
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 lb. salt pork
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. dry mustard
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. molasses
Boiling water

Clean beans and wash and soak overnight in plenty of cold water. In the morning drain in a colander, cover with fresh cold water, add the soda and simmer until tender. When beans pierce easily with fork, drain in a colander with cold water. Place beans, pork and seasonings and water in a 2 quart bean pot and bake 6 hours in a 300 degree oven. Remove lid during last hour of baking.
