BAKING POWDER BISCUITS 
2 c. all purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. Crisco
3/4 c. milk

Sift the flour, baking powder and salt into a mixing bowl. Add the Crisco and cut in with a pastry blender. Make a well in the mixture, measure in 1/2 cup of the milk. Work lightly with a two-tined fork. Pour in the rest of the milk and mix with fork until dough holds together. Knead dough on a floured board (from the outside toward the center) lightly 6 - 7 times. Roll out lightly from the center and cut with a biscuit cutter without twisting the cutter. Bake in the center of a 450 degree oven for 10 - 15 minutes.
